In the first quarter of 2019, Sea Port of Saint-Petersburg JSC (SP SPb, a company of UCL Holding) handled 1.69 million tonnes of dry cargo, down 10% versus the same period of the previous year. The negative dynamics should be attributed to reduction of metal transshipment. However, handling of other types of general cargo – metal scrap, big-bags, containers and dry bulk cargo — showed an increase.

In the first quarter 2019, Training Center of Marine Recruiting Agency (MRA, a company of UCL Holding) trained 248 blue-collar workers including 194 people who completed the programmes of basic professional training and 54 people who completed the programmes of additional professional training. More than a half of the trainees – 129 people – obtained new professions.

As part of its technical upgrading programme, Sea Port of Saint-Petersburg JSC (SP SPb, a company of UCL Holding) has put into operation new portal crane Vityaz costing over EUR 3.5 million. During its first shift the crane handled more than 300 tonnes of aluminum.
